NOUN Admission: Step by Step Guide on How to Apply.

Below are simple steps on how to Apply for Admission into National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)

Step 1: Visit the NOUN Admission portal at nounonline.net

www.nouonline.net or you can use this direct link https://www.nouonline.net/index.php. This page loads up with lots of content and you have to click on “Apply for Admission”.

Step 2: Click on “Apply for Admission”

After that you will be provided with the following details; Apply for an Undergraduate Programme, Apply for a Postgraduate Programme, Apply for a PhD Programme, and Apply for ACETEL Programmes. click on any of the programmes you want to enroll in.

Step 3: Choose Faculty

After selecting the programme, locate and Click on “CHOOSE FACULTY” to display its programmes then select the program you wish to apply for

Step 4: View Faculty Requirements

Choose from any of the faculties to view its faculty requirements.

Step 5: Form Fill

Fill in the required information in the displayed form.

Step 6: Read Admission Criteria

Scroll down to see and also read the admission criteria.

Step 7: Click on the “Apply” button

After reading the admission criteria, click on “Apply” buton to proceed with the application.

Step 8: Copy the UNIQUE ID

UNIQUE ID is displayed after clicking on the apply button, copy out the unique id in case of further clarification.

Step 9: Click on the ‘Continue’

After copying the ID, click on the continue button to proceed with your application.

Step 10: Make Payment select (Bank Branch)

After clicking on the continue button, from the displayed option select “Bank Branch” as the payment type.

Step 11. Click on “Pay”

After selecting the Bank branch Click on “Pay”. Copy and take your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number to any bank branch for payment.

Step 1: Visit the admission page

Visit the admission page at www.admissions.nouonline.net to continue with the admission process

Step 2: Click on “Continue After Payment”

Click on the continue after payment button to proceed.

Step 3: Select The Paid Programme

From the payment categories select the programme which you paid for (continue after payment for Undergraduate Admission, continue after payment for postgraduate Admission, or continue after payment for Ph.D. Admission)

Step 4: Enter your RRR number, Programme, and Level

Enter the Remita Reference Number, the programme you are applying for and the level.

Step 5: Click on “Proceed”

After entering the RRR Number, programme and the level, click on the proceed button to continue.

Step 6: Fill Form

Fill in the displayed form with the required details. All fields marked with red star in the form are compulsory.

After filling of the form (what Next)

Step 7: Click on the “SUBMIT” button

Cross check and hit on the “submit” to submit your Admission Application Form to NOUN Admission Portal.

Step 8: Print Admission Letter

Print out a copy or more of the Admission letter.

Step 9: Screening

Visit the nearest National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) study centre with your Admission Letter for screening.

NOUN Admission Requirements (current).

National Open University of Nigeria Undergraduate Programmes Requirements.

i. Undergraduate applicants for admission into NOUN are expected to have a minimum of five (5) O’ Level credits, that is English Language and Mathematics and any other three subjects.

ii. Other requirements might apply for some programmes and these can be viewed after selecting the Programme and entry level at the Faculty’s admission page.

National Open University of Nigeria Postgraduate Programmes Requirements.

i. Postgraduate applicants for admission into NOUN programmes must at least meet up with all matriculation requirements of at minimum five (5) credit passes including Mathematics and English Language. Meanwhile, some programmes accept at minimum a pass in Mathematics.

ii. All applicants/Candidates must have a minimum pass of a Bachelors Degree in any discipline from any recognized University by the Senate of this institution (NOUN).

iii. For a Postgraduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting a minimum of Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Lower Credit is required. Also, the candidate must be someone who has been to the Bar.

iv. Candidates with professional qualifications such as ACIS, ACIB, ACII, ACA, and ACIA are also eligible for admission into the school of Business and Human Resources

v. Candidates with ACIS, ACIB, ACII, ACA, and ACIA (professional qualifications) can also apply for Management Postgraduate Diploma programmes, candidates with these professional qualifications can be considered on individual merit.

vi. Candidates Applying for Master’s Degree programmes, must have either a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of second class lower in the relevant field of study from a recognized University by the Senate of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Senate.

vii. Holders of lower classification and with a minimum of 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience may be considered on individual merit, or a Postgraduate Diploma in a related field of study from a recognized University, or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Upper Credit in the relevant field of study. Candidates with membership certificates from relevant professional bodies may apply for the Master of Business (MBA) programme.

viii. Candidates applying for Doctor of Philosophy Degree prorammes must possess a Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study from a University recognized by the Senate of the NOUN with a minimum score average of not less than 60% or a cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 on a 5-point scale.
