Requirements for JAMB Registration – 2024

So many Students are aspiring to be admitted into higher institution of their choice, but before that happens, they will have to register for JAMB UTME/Direct Entry at accredited CBT Centres, write and also pass the JAMB UTME/DE exam. But before heading to JAMB accredited CBT Centres to do registration, there are certain documents/items that will be required from you before registration.

Requirements for JAMB Registration(List)

Below is the list of What will be required from you during JAMB registration.

  2. JAMB Profile Code
  3. JAMB PIN
  4. O’ Level Results (WAEC or NECO result)
  5. A’ Level Results
  6. Bio-Data
  7. List of four subject combinations (Use of English and any other three subjects)
  8. List of institutions of your choice and courses

Explanation of the List of Documents/Items

1. National Identification Number (NIN) will be required from you during registration. If you have not enrolled or don’t have a National Identification number, you can visit the National Identification Management Office (NIMC) to register for your NIN.

But if you already have a National Identification Number (NIN) and has forgotten or misplaced the number you can retrieve it by dialing *346# and following the instruction promptly with the same number used for the NIN registration.

2. Profile code: Your profile code will be required at CBT Centre before purchasing of JAMB PIN both for UTME and Direct Entry applicants.

The profile code is used to procure the UTME/DE e-PIN for candidates and also the profile code it’s needed to access the JAMB profile before registration will commence. See How To Create JAMB Profile Code.

3. JAMB E-PIN: if you have purchased a PIN that’s better because most of the CBT Centres will prefer you buy your E-PIN before coming for registration. See How to Purchase JAMB E- PIN

4. O’ Level Result: UTME Candidates registering with WAEC or NECO result must go along with any of these result to CBT Centres. The result details such as grade and other details will be needed by CBT Centres as it will be inputted (filled in) to the JAMB portal during registration. Meanwhile, some CBT Centres may ask you to come back next time to upload your O’ Level result.

5. A’ Level Result: Candidates registering for JAMB Direct Entry exam will go along with any of the following results; JUPEB, IJMB, Cambridge, RN. RM, NCE, ND, HND, or BSC result.

Note:    Candidates awaiting results don’t need to bother about going with their result to the CBT Centres for registration. AR (Awaiting Results) will be filled in place of result. That means candidates who registered with Awaiting result (AR) will have to return to the same or any other CBT Centers to upload his/her results to the JAMB portal as soon as the results are out.

6. BIO-DATA: It will be exported from your personal National Identification Number (NIN), bio-data which includes; Names, Date of Birth, Local Government Area (LGA) of origin, State of Origin, etc. You can also write it out on a sheet of paper and take it along with you to CBT Centres.

7. List of four subject combinations: Before heading to CBT Centres for registration, you should first of all know the right subject combination for the proposed course(s) you intend to study. In order to be sure of the right subject combination, you can check the JAMB brochure.

The subject combination is just a number of four subjects in which Use of English (English Language) is a compulsory subject added to any other three subjects that are in line with the JAMB brochure for proposed courses.

8. List of institutions of your choice and courses: you will have to list out at least four institutions of your choice in terms of first choice, second choice, third choice, and fourth choice. This institution will have to be either a University, Polytechnic, College of Education or any other tertiary Institution.

It is advised that you place this institution according to your choices (for example, first choice of institution should be filled in the space for first choice or first column when registering. Adding to that, you should also confirm the proposed courses in the various institutions you filled, so as not to fill in course(s) that is not studied in some institutions.

  1. Without these documents, registration cannot be processed because JAMB has made it compulsory.
  2. These documents help JAMB to create a unique Student page for each candidate which can be accessible via JAMB CAPS
